Vertical Farming

Vertical farming represents a revolutionary approach to agriculture, maximizing space and resources to produce fresh, nutritious greens and herbs in urban settings. At KasraGreens, we harness this innovative method through our Vertical Garden System, offering sustainable solutions that enhance food security and promote healthy eating.

Understanding vertical rotary system

Vertical farming is an innovative agricultural practice that involves growing crops in vertically stacked layers or integrated into other structures.

This method not only optimizes land use but also significantly reduces the need for pesticides and herbicides, fostering a healthier growing environment.

At KasraGreens, we will employ a vertical rotary garden system, a technology that enhances geotropism to promote robust growth in leafy greens and herbs. By utilizing controlled environments, we can regulate light, temperature, and nutrients, creating ideal conditions for plants to thrive year-round. This approach is particularly beneficial in urban areas , where space is limited and the demand for locally sourced produce is on the rise.

Function of geotropism in vertical rotary system;

Geotropism plays a significant role in our rotary system, enabling plant organs to alter their position in relation to the gravity vector.
As a result, plants grow faster, require a smaller root system, and can focus more energy on flower, leaf, and stem growth.
Modern cultivation technology allows for year-round harvesting. If the plant is placed in a horizontal position, its main stem will rise and its root will fall.
The reaction of the stem is oriented in opposition to the direction of gravity like below pictures,

Vertical Aeroponic geotropism system

Our technology is working based on aeroponic technology.Aeroponics is the practice of growing plants in an air or mist environment without the use of a substrate. The plant roots are suspended in the air and periodically misted or sprayed with a nutrient solution. The direct mist of nutrient solution into the plant roots facilitates a significant reduction in water and fertilizer consumption. On average, aeroponic systems use up to 95% less water than conventional farming methods. It therefore becomes an eco-system, easy to use, making it possible to grow value-added vegetables all year round, free of pesticide, herbicide, and fungicide.

Advantage of growing crops in vertical aeroponic rotary system ,

-Crop growing year round

-Enables local and continuous production

-Locally produced, virtually avoiding transport costs, and available on the shelves within 24 hours.

-Supply lead-time is known in advance, which is what super markets and restaurants are dreaming of.

-Improved control of medical crops with repeatable results overcoming all other types of crops

-Automated harvesting

-Clean and healthy product all year-round

-Low energy consumption, efficient usage of light source

-Less water consumption(95% less)

-Enables niche crops

-Increasing secondary metabolites content in herbs and aromatic plants through aeroponic system
